Visit Anglesey launches new website

Visit Anglesey, the official tourism team for Anglesey County Council, has launched a new destination website:www.visitanglesey.co.uk.

The new website, launched on St David’s Day, will help inform and inspire visitors to visit the Island.

Replacing the former website, the new and updated site will help promote Anglesey’s fascinating history, culture, accommodation, and local businesses. It has also been developed to be more user friendly and functionality has been driven by accessibility best practices.

In 2023, www.visitanglesey.co.uk attracted 350,000 visitors and is poised to surpass this figure in 2024.

Leisure, Tourism and Maritime Portfolio Holder, Councillor Neville Evans said, “The new Visit Anglesey website is a destination shop window for our beautiful Island and acts an important tool for us to engage with local residents and visitors.”

He added, “The redesigned website underlines our commitment to providing an accessible and engaging platform for both visitors and our residents. The new website combines a modern design, appealing content, itinerary ideas, and imagery which will inspire people to explore our fantastic Island.”

Visitors to the new website will be able to plan itineraries to directly match their needs, view diverse event listings within the events section and click for inspiration as they explore the plethora of articles and recommendations on the website.

Anglesey’s Visitor Economy and Coastal Areas Manager, Andy Godber explained, “We are thrilled to launch the new Visit Anglesey website, with increased functionality, improved accessibility and a new, modern design.”

He added, “We believe the new site will play a pivotal role in furthering Anglesey’s reputation as a must-visit destination. As we look forward to an exciting year ahead, we are confident that the new website will serve as the go-to resource for residents and visitors seeking to make the most of their time on our beautiful Island.”
