Plans for two digital posters are set to be granted in Wrexham

TWO digital posters proposed for Wrexham City Centre could be given to go-ahead by councillors.

Two planning applications by Wrexham Council have been submitted for the posters, with one proposed to be situated on Lord Street and the other on Hope Street.

They would be free-standing double-sided digital posters which would be housed in a black coloured steel enclosed unit. They would be 2.2m high, nearly 1.1m wide and 0.375m deep according to both reports into the plans.

Both reports say: “The proposed sign would be used to display digital posters that will advertise and market local businesses, including special offers to help increase business activity within the City Centre.”

They add that the sites had been chosen because they occupy central locations within the city centre, with a “high volume of footfall which would help maximise interest from passing trade and hopefully attract and direct customers to the local businesses that are advertised”.

Both reports also said that the locations were chosen as they are close to the necessary infrastructure to enable them to operate effectively, such as internet connection and electric supply.

The applications will go before Wrexham Council’s Planning Committee meeting on Monday, December 4 and are recommended for approval.
