SAM ROWLANDS, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, has congratulated the club for being promoted for the third season in a row.
Mr Rowlands, a keen football supporter, joined the First Minister, Eluned Morgan in congratulating Wrexham football club for its back to back promotions.
He said: “Wrexham is clearly a city on the up, and I would like to add my congratulations to Wrexham Association Football Club for their fantastic achievement over the past three years.
“Their remarkable and well-earned journey has led to them being promoted to the Championship, just one division down from the Premier League.
“Last Saturday’s game against fellow promotion chasing rival, Charlton Athletic saw them gain an automatic promotion place which is great news for the club and the city.
“The players and staff are writing a new chapter in the history of the club, but it is not just on the pitch that Wrexham is making those strides forward; the transformative investment and backing of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have helped to rejuvenate the city of Wrexham and North Wales as a whole.
“Everywhere I go in the city people are all talking about the achievements of the football club and the economic potential impact for the area is huge.
“Even now Wrexham is still attracting global wide interest and I sincerely hope that Welsh Government will continue to grasp this opportunity to support tourism and the wider economy in Wrexham and North Wales.”
