A WREXHAM Mecca Bingo player has had her life changed after winning a jackpot worth £50,000 on April Fools’ Day. The lucky winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, managed to hit the jackpot during the National Bingo Game despite the date.
The winner, who has been a devoted Mecca Bingo player for more than three decades, recently transferred from Chester to the Wrexham club located on Smithfield Road. Despite the coincidence of the win taking place on April Fools’ Day, the fortunate lady knew it was no prank when all her numbers were called out.
Tracy Leigh, the general manager of Mecca Bingo Wrexham, said the club was filled with excitement when they learned of the win. She added that Saturdays are always full of great atmosphere, but it was a whole new level of joy when they discovered that one of their regular players had won such a significant amount.
