Celebrating Maesteg’s heritage through art

A STUNNING new mural has been unveiled in the heart of Maesteg town centre, celebrating the town’s rich history and vibrant community.

Commissioned and funded by Maesteg Town Council, the mural—created by renowned local artist ‘Lloyd The Graffiti’ (Lloyd Roberts)—adorns the side wall of the Blue Pearl Fish & Chip Bar on Talbot Street.

The artwork pays homage to iconic figures and landmarks from Maesteg’s past, including Welsh Rugby International JJ Williams, Vernon Hartshorn OBE, the Revlon factory, and Maesteg Community Hospital. It also features the words of “Mae Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau,” the Welsh National Anthem, first performed in Maesteg.
