A major accident has resulted in the closure of a section of the M4 in both directions.
South Wales Police responded to the crash at around 03:00 GMT on Wednesday.
The eastbound lane is shut down from junction 40 in Taibach to J38 in Margam, and the westbound lane is closed from J38 in Margam to J39 in Groes, as reported by Traffic Wales.
Police have indicated that the road is likely to remain closed for an extended period and has recommended that drivers steer clear of the area.
