POLICE in Newport are investigating a serious assault which took place on Boswell Close.
A report was received of an assault in Boswell Close, Newport, at around 2.37pm March 29th.
Officers attended along with the Welsh Ambulance Service.
A woman was taken to hospital for treatment. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
A 35-year-old local woman has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and is currently in police custody.
Chief Supt Vicki Townsend said: “Officers will be making further enquiries at this time and will remain at the scenes as the investigation progresses.

“We would like to thank the members of the public who came to the aid of the injured woman.”
