Two drug dealers put behind bars in time for Christmas

IN APRIL 2022, officers from the Organised Crime Unit from South Wales Police carried out a proactive stop following intelligence that identified Morgan Bishop and Matthew Green as suspects involved in the supply of controlled drugs in Pontypridd.

The two men were arrested and their homes were searched. Officers found a large quantity of cannabis edibles and cannabis syrups, with an estimated street value of up to £7,080, as well as vacuum bags of cannabis bud, with a street value of up to £19k.

Bishop’s mobile phone also had evidence showing that he was involved in the supply of cocaine.

Both men were charged and remanded into custody until their sentencing.

On September 23 at Merthyr Crown Court, Matthew Green, 38, from Aberdare, was sentenced to one year and four months for possession with intent to supply cannabis and possession of cocaine.

On December 7 at Merthyr Crown Court, Morgan Bishop, 21, from Graigwen, was sentenced to three years and nine months for being concerned in the supply of Class A – cocaine, concerned in the supply of Class B – cannabis and possession with intent to supply cannabis.
