RSPCA Cymru appeal for owner following concerns of pony at common

RSPCA Cymru has launched an appeal for information to try and find the owner of a pony  removed from Gelligaer and Merthyr Common due to concerns for the animal’s welfare.

RSPCA deputy chief inspector Gemma Black said: “The pony was quiet, and subdued and a vet in attendance advised that suffering was likely if the animal was not removed.

“The young female pony is believed to be no more than four months old.”

The pony has been taken into RSPCA care and enquiries are being made to track down an owner.

Gemma added: “We are appealing for information to try and track down the owner. Anyone with any first hand information can contact the RSPCA inspectorate appeal line on 0300 123 8018 and quote 1181252.”
