Self-defence classes boost safety for women and girls

HALO’S Maesteg Sports Centre is hosting self-defence classes for women and girls every Tuesday evening until 26 September, from 7.30 pm to 9 pm.

These sessions, funded by the Safer Streets initiative, are a collaborative effort between the Bridgend County Borough Council, the Police and Crime Commissioner for South Wales, and South Wales Police.

The focus is to ensure safety by imparting skills in situational awareness, conflict de-escalation, and basic self-defence. Following its success in Bridgend and Pencoed earlier this year, the classes have been introduced in Maesteg.

Interested parties can book their slots online, but with limited places, early booking is recommended.
