The tallest waterfall in South Wales with a drop of 90 feet, has frozen!

HENRHYD FALLS in the Brecon Beacons, Powys has frozen as the cold spell continues to grip Wales.

The MET office has confirmed that temperatures dipped to a chilly -17oC at the beauty spot, enough to freeze the famous waterfall – which gained notoriety in the Batman Movie the Dark Knight Rises

However during warmer times you can truly enjoy the magic of this natural waterfall, how it cascades, and its majestic splendour during all the different seasons.

As you delve into the beauty, stay safe as you take a trip to the falls this winter, and enjoy the lovely scenes.

A wooden gate welcomes you as you enter the woods where you begin your descent towards the waterfall. It takes about five minutes to get to the bottom where you find a sign post with trails pointing you in the right direction for the waterfall.

The 90-foot-drop Henrhyd waterfall is the tallest in the southern part of Wales. It is stated that the greatest time to see the waterfall is right after a significant downpour.

You can also choose to stroll behind the falls; just be sure to read the sign, obey it, and use extra caution because boulders are likely to fall in this region. However, the view from the falls is simply stunning.

Although it appears tiny, the drop is 27 metres. The Brecon Beacons National Park’s southwest portion is where this waterfall is located.

This waterfall served as the entryway to the Bat Cave during The Dark Knight Rises’ climactic sequence.
