Appeal for witnesses following collision in Cwmbran

Gwent Police is appealing for witnesses following a collision between a van and a bike in Llantarnam.

The collision took place on Newport Road at around 11.10pm on Wednesday, 10 January.

The man, who was riding the bike, has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A driver of a white van, believed to have yellow and red chevrons on the back, reportedly left the scene following the collision.

The van involved in the collision was initially believed to be white, however we’ve received further information since the report of the collision and the van is now believed to be red with black windows on the side, silver alloys and yellow and red chevrons on the back.

The collision involved a van and an e-bike.

The incident took place between the Llantarnam Way roundabout and the lights near Malthouse Lane.

Enquiries are ongoing and officers are appealing for anyone who may have seen the collision, have dash-cam footage of the area at the time, or has any information which could assist the investigation, to come forward.
