Couple tragically found dead in Cardiff home were ‘discovered by daughter’

THE couple found dead in their Cardiff home, along with their pet dog, were discovered by their daughter after a neighbour raised concerns. South Wales Police are investigating the sudden deaths in Trowbridge.

Police were called to the residence on Morfa Crescent on Saturday, October 5, around 2:50 pm. A cordon was established at the scene, and a rifle was recovered from the property. Formal identification has not yet occurred, but authorities believe the deceased to be a 72-year-old woman and a 74-year-old man.

A neighbour, who wished to remain anonymous, stated that residents in the area are vigilant and noticed something was wrong when the couple’s curtains remained closed. This led them to contact the couple’s daughter, who then made the grim discovery.

Detective Chief Inspector Lianne Rees mentioned that extensive investigations are ongoing to determine the events leading to the incident. The results of post-mortem examinations are pending to confirm the cause of death. Police are not currently seeking any other suspects in connection with the deaths.
