Haverfordwest: Alleged car dealer to stand trial

AN ALLEGED car dealer from Haverfordwest is to stand trial accused of hiding profits from the Department for Work and Pensions.

Shamus Dewaine, aged 39, of The Close, Johnston, appeared today (Feb 10) before Judge Keith Thomas at Swansea Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing.

He denied making a false statement to the Department on November 17 2014, in which he claimed income support but failed to declare income from his motor business.

Dewaine will go on trial before a jury on May 11 and was granted bail meanwhile.
