Carmarthenshire pupils celebrate A-level results: 96.6% achieved A*-E.

CONGRATULATIONS to the young people of Carmarthenshire that are receiving their hard-earned A Level and A.S. results today, Thursday 17 August 2023.

A total of 96.6% of A-level students in Carmarthenshire achieved A*-E.

Through a combination of exams and assessments, applicable to different courses, a total of 29.4% of A level students across Carmarthenshire have received A or A* this year; whilst 88.7% of the county’s AS students in Carmarthenshire achieved A-E grades.

On receiving her results today, Non from Ysgol Gyfun Y Strade said: “I got an A*, A, A and I’m going to study film and television at University of the Arts in London.”

Cllr. Glynog Davies, Cabinet Member for Education and Welsh Language said: “Congratulations to our young people that are receiving their results today, you are a credit to Carmarthenshire.

“Today belongs to you, your teachers, support staff, families and friends for all of your hard work and commitment, but I am also looking forward to hearing of your future achievements. Llongyfarchiadau bawb.”

In a joint statement, Carmarthenshire County Council’s Chief Executive, Wendy Walters and Director of Education and Children’s Services, Gareth Morgans added: “Congratulations to our A-Level and A.S. students for their well-deserved and excellent results.

“The County Council is grateful for your commitment and perseverance over the last two years and also thankful to your teachers, support staff, families and friends for their support and encouragement to you.

“We wish you every success for the future, diolch.”
