Residents are encouraged to have their say on potential flooding schemes in Pen Y Fan, Llanelli.
A Welsh Government supported project is currently ongoing to investigate current and future flood risk in Pen Y Fan, Llanelli. The project is also assessing potential flood mitigation options to reduce flood risk to residents in the area and investigate future funding mechanisms for the scheme.
Carmarthenshire County Council is planning an in-person consultation event with residents, businesses and stakeholders. This will give the public an opportunity to meet and speak with representatives from the Council and the Project Team.
A consultation event will be held at New Dock Stars Rugby Football Club on Tuesday, 14 November, between 2pm and 7pm. Officers from Carmarthenshire County Council and WSP Consultants will be present and available throughout the event to answer any queries by the public.
The project team want to understand the impact flooding has on communities, how flooding happens in Pen Y Fan, and to assess different potential flood measures that will reduce the impact during increasingly stormy weather in the future.
Members of the public will be able to submit their comments and feedback in person to the Project Team on the day. They will also be invited to submit comments and feedback by email after the event.
Feedback from the event will feed into the next stage of the work and form part of any decision making that Carmarthenshire County Council and Welsh Government will undertake to design and implement any flood risk reduction scheme.
