CCTAL, the independent construction training association in Carmarthenshire, has announced its participation in the upcoming Choose Your Future Carmarthenshire event. This collaborative initiative, organised by Careers Wales in partnership with Coleg Sir Gar, Carmarthenshire County Council, and Castell Howell Foods, will take place at the Supporters Village Arena of Parc Y Scarlets, Llanelli, on Friday February 22, 2024.
Students from Years 10 to 13 from Carmarthenshire schools and colleges will be invited to the 2024 event, with 2500 visitors expected over the course of the day. The aim of Choose Your Future is to provide guests with an engaging glimpse into the extensive array of career possibilities and enhance understanding of the various routes one can pursue.
The event will run from 9am until 6.00pm. Owing to last year’s success, event organisers have decided to maintain the extended opening hours to accommodate parents and the public so that they may attend outside of school or working hours.
CCTAL, known for its commitment to providing industry expertise and promoting training opportunities within the construction sector, is geared up to contribute to this informative and engaging experience, and to offer industry expertise and information about training for potential apprentices and trainees.
Additionally, attendees will have the chance to immerse themselves in the sector’s dynamic work environment through the use of state-of-the-art virtual reality technology.
A respected organisation in the local region, CCTAL works closely with local colleges and training providers to identify training needs within the construction industry, fill the skills gap, and champion the attainment of recognised qualifications as a means of training for future generations within the industry.
Lynette Daniels, Training Manager at CCTAL said: “We are thrilled to be part of the Choose Your Future event this year. It is a fantastic opportunity for both young people and businesses – students get to explore the vast career options available to them, and businesses have the chance to showcase their work.”
“The CCTAL team can’t wait to meet the students and talk about what the construction industry can offer – so come with questions, and let’s talk about all the great opportunities in construction!”
