Hakin hit eleven in West Wales Cup

HAKIN United cruised through to the fourth round of the West Wales Cup on Saturday (Dec 3) as they beat Cilfrew Rovers 11-0.

The game was just five minutes old when Hakin opened the scoring through Garin Gardner and three minutes later Mark Jones scored to double their lead.

Cilfrew’s task became even harder in the 22nd minute as Ashley Bevan made it 3-0 and it was four shortly before the break as Justin Harding got his name on the score sheet.

Early in the second half, Shane Walsh saw a shot saved and Bevan saw a header pushed away as the Vikings showed no signs of letting up.

Seven minutes in, Hakin did have a fifth as Camron Thomas squared the ball in the box for Harding to tap home his second and four minutes later it was six as Walsh found the net.

In the 62nd minute, Thomas saw a shot blocked but the ball fell into the path of Laurie Haworth who fired in.

Soon after a shot from Bevan was saved and Haworth was again in the right place to tap in the rebound to make it 8-0.

With thirteen minutes to go, Thomas beat the offside trap and he squared for Bevan to tap in.

Just a minute later it was 10 as Walsh sent the ball down the line for Leon Davies who crossed in for Bevan to score and complete his hat trick.

Cilfrew were reduced to ten men late on as Cameron Jones was shown a red card.

And in time added on, the scoring was complete as Ryan Wilson added Hakin’s eleventh of the game.
