79 runners enjoy Christmas Eve park run

THE Christmas Eve parkrun saw the ‘presents’ of 79 runners and an abundance of volunteers at Haverfordwest Racecourse (Public Park) Trust, dogs on short leads barking ‘hold on for deer life’ to their owners. It was a great start, but there is myrhh!

With a photographer from Oxford ‘shaking it like a pole-oriod picture’ not one person shouted to the Run Director Jonathan Twigg, ‘Yule be sorry’ at this ‘most wine-derful time of the year’ or ‘how rude-olf of you’ as he wished everyone Nadolig Llawen.

Visitors came from London, Bedford, Oxford, Twickenham. Plymouth, Notts, Bath, Chirk, Lake District, Bristol and Inverness to participate in today’s event, most really only here for the mince pies provided by Goldcrest District Girl Guides. Diolch yn fawr iawn.

Fancy dress was to the fore and as expected Santa was in a hurry to make sure everything was in place for tomorrow crossing the line ahead of a chaser, by a short nose, the crowd welcoming his arrival with loud ‘santa-plause’.

Next weekend Haverfordwest parkrun will be hosting events on New Years Eve (Saturday) and New Years Day (Sunday), both starting at 9am.

In setting yourself a resolution, there can be no beter way than to see out the old and bring in the new than taking part in the Haverfordwest parkrun.
