Barney to take on 100 miles in May to raise funds for vital Welsh charity

A PEMBROKE DOCK man will walk 100 miles in May to raise funds for a vital life-saving charity.

Richard ‘Barney’ Lewis, is taking on the challenge to raise much needed funds for the Wales Air Ambulance.

Richard, known by all as Barney, is an avid supporter of the charity and the local volunteer representative for the charity.

He will be taking on the challenge, starting May 1, by walking the lengths and breadths of Pembroke Dock, clocking up the miles in his spare time. He will even be taking his challenge with him on a planned trip to take the Pembrokeshire Jacks to Swansea, while they enjoy the football match, Barney will be racking up the miles while he waits for their return.

Barney is looking forward to the challenge and is attempting to raise around £1,500 and has already achieved £70 towards his goal (correct at time of printing).

The Wales Air Ambulance Charity provides advanced life-saving emergency care for everyone in Wales, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We are a ‘mobile emergency department’ that relies entirely on donations to keep our helicopters in the air and rapid response vehicles on the road.

Your donations will help keep this vital service in Wales.
