Bridge return to winning ways

MERLINS BRIDGE returned to winning ways on Saturday (Mar 4) as they beat Fishguard Sports 4-1.

The Wizards had suffered a four-game winless run but they ultimately proved too strong for Fishguard. The Wizards also held a victory by the same scoreline over the Sports earlier in the season.

With only seven minutes gone, Will Evans set up Nick Squire to score the opening goal of the game for the home side.

However, with 27 minutes gone, Ieuan Llewellyn scored to level the game up for Fishguard.

Ten minutes into the second half it was the Bridge who regained the lead when Squire scored his second goal of the game.

Jordan Richards added a third with fifteen minutes to go to all but seal the points for the Wizards.

Young striker Lewis Miller then completed the scoring in time added on, as he scored his first goal for the first team.

On Saturday, March 11, Merlins Bridge host St Clears while Fishguard are at home against Hakin United.
