Tenby earn promotion to Division 1

TENBY earned promotion to Division 1 on Tuesday night (Apr 18) as they scored a late equaliser to get the point they needed from their game with Herbrandston.

It is the club’s fourth promotion in four seasons and they will now look forward to a return to the first division.

They did not have it all their own way on Tuesday though against a Herbie side who also harboured hopes of getting back into Division 1.

Scott Reid put Herbie ahead before Daryl Mansbridge equalised for the visitors.

Reid added another goal shortly before the break and when Adam Whatling scored to make it 3-1 on the stroke of half time, it looked as if the promotion race would be going down to the final games.

However, Sam Butler scored in the 64th minute to give his side hope.

It looked as if Herbie were going to hold on to victory but in the fourth minute of time added on Butler scored a second to make it 3-3. They held on to earn the point needed to seal their promotion.

Elsewhere on Tuesday, Justin Harding scored twice for Hakin United seconds as they came from behind to see off Monkton Swifts seconds and keep their Division 2 title hopes alive.

Johnston were also victorious on Tuesday as Scott Crawford’s goal gave them a narrow 1-0 win over Narberth.

Fixtures for Thursday, April 20:
Hakin United II v Milford United
