A MAJOR event is being held in Swansea next month to showcase the city’s business community.

The Swansea and West Wales Introbiz Expo 2023 event – taking place in the Brangwyn Hall on Thursday October 26 – is being organised by Introbiz Swansea and West Wales in partnership with Swansea Council.

Projects in the local area will also be highlighted as part of the event, which will run from 10am to 5pm.

The event will include space for about 70 exhibitors, a zone for start-up businesses, seminars and keynote speakers.

Google will also be on hand to exhibit and present a workshop.

Keynote speakers will include Kelli Aspland and Laura Waters of Solar Buddies – a company that recently secured investment from Debra Meaden and Peter Jones on BBC One’s Dragon’s Den.

Start-up businesses can apply for free to exhibit stands at the event.

Cllr Robert Francis-Davies, Swansea Council’s Cabinet Member for Investment, Regeneration and Tourism, said: “We have so many fantastic businesses in Swansea and this is a fantastic opportunity for them to exhibit, network and showcase their services.

“It’s among the many ways we’re here to support our businesses, with plenty of funding opportunities available and a business support service on hand to provide guidance.

“Updates on major projects will also be provided at the event, given so much regeneration is happening in Swansea for the benefit of our residents and businesses.”

Mark Davies, of Introbiz Swansea and West Wales, said: “The landscape of Swansea is changing rapidly. The infrastructure and introduction of the ongoing projects will make Swansea such an attractive place to work and live.

“With the support of Swansea Council, we are able provide the future entrepreneurs the opportunity to showcase their fledgling businesses for free.

“We are showcasing all of the south and west Wales regions as we have some amazing and fantastic businesses here.

“For those visiting and exhibiting at the expo, it can offer a huge range of benefits, including networking opportunities, knowledge acquisition, business growth potential, product exploration, market research, and inspiration. It is a valuable experience for professionals and businesses looking to expand their horizons and stay updated with the industry trends.

“The big advantage of exhibiting is visibility as your business will be seen by all the exhibitors and hundreds of visitors – and all for less than the price of an advert.”

Businesses are asked to head here to book a stand, quoting EXPO23ANV to get a discount.

Attendance of the event is free, but anyone interested in going along should ensure they register to attend first by visiting this Eventbrite page.
