Motorcycle and Electric Scooter collision seriously injures two 11-year-old girls

Two 11-year-old girls have sustained severe injuries in a collision involving a motorcycle and an electric scooter. Two individuals, aged 18 and 24, have been apprehended on suspicion of causing serious injury through dangerous driving.

The collision occurred on Friday at approximately 15:50 BST at the junction of Waun Wen Road and Tegid Road in Mayhill, Swansea. Both girls were promptly transported to the hospital for medical attention. South Wales Police expressed deep concern within the local community but urged people not to engage in speculation.

As part of the ongoing investigation, authorities have seized a pink electric scooter, while the whereabouts of the motorcycle, believed to be a Husqvarna, remain unknown.

South Wales Police Chief Inspector Jonathan Fairhurst, said: “Our thoughts are with the families of the two girls who are seriously injured in hospital.

“We understand there will be a great deal of concern within the community and extensive inquiries are being carried out to establish the exact circumstances of the collision.

“We respectfully ask people not to speculate at this time.”

South Wales Police have issued an appeal, urging anyone in possession of information regarding the incident or the whereabouts of the missing motorbike to come forward and provide assistance.
