Summer of fun coming for Swansea

Swansea’s Oystermouth Castle.

A BIG summer of fun awaits Swansea residents and visitors as attractions and businesses look to build on a busy Easter.

Major events and a range of popular venues are among the things already catching the attention of local families, visiting groups and individuals.

They range from big-name concerts in Singleton Park to art gallery exhibitions and from spectacular beaches and parks to venues such as the LC and Plantasia.

Major returning events planned for the summer include the Wales Airshow and IRONMAN 70.3 Swansea.

Those offering the fun include Swansea Council’s Enjoy Swansea Bay team and a range of other organisations and businesses including pubs, restaurants and hotels.

Robert Francis-Davies, the council’s cabinet member for investment, regeneration, events and tourism, said, “It was good to see families enjoying the area over Easter – even though the weather could have been better.

“With attention now shifting to the warmer, drier months, the council and many others are preparing to offer people a lot more fun indoors and outdoors.

“I applaud the work of all those in the cultural and tourism sector who do so much to make Swansea a great place to visit and in which to live.”
