Narberth edge Neyland to book place in Pembrokeshire Cup final

NARBERTH Athletic booked their place in the final of the Pembrokeshire Cup on Friday night (Mar 17) as they beat Neyland 14-6 at the Lewis Lloyd Ground.

Neyland took the lead with a penalty from George Evans but Narberth hit back with a converted try. Shane Rossitter touched down after sustained Narberth pressure and he then added the extras to give his side a 7-3 lead.

Evans added his second penalty to reduce the deficit to one but when the half time whistle went the Otters held a slender 7-6 lead.

Both sides battled well in the second half on a heavy pitch but neither could add to the scoring until the final ten minutes.

It was the home side who got it as Owain Hughes was credited with the try and Harry Harries added the extra two points.

The All Blacks pushed hard in the final ten minutes as they looked for a way back into the game but they couldn’t quite get over the line.

Narberth held on for the win and will now look forward to the Cup final.
