Wrexham release 11 players after promotion to League 2

WREXHAM AFC has confirmed that several players will be leaving the club when their contracts expire.

In its statement, Wrexham offered their ‘sincere thanks’ to all who had played and made a contribution while at the club.

The players released are: Ryan Austin, Kai Calderbank-Park, Malik Dijksteel, Reece Hall-Johnson, Jake Hyde, Harry Lennon, Rory Watson, Tom Jenkins, Dan Jones, Louis Lloyd, Will Mountfield.

An offer of a new contract will be made to Liam McAlinden and a discussion will take place with Ben Foster to establish if his intention is to return to retirement or continue playing.

Harry Lennon has confirmed that it is his intention to retire from playing due to the injuries he has suffered.

The Club will exercise the option to extend the contracts of the following players: Scott Butler, Aaron James.

Following promotion, the following players contracts have been extended by a further season: Mark Howard, Anthony Forde, Paul Mullin.

A decision as to whether Kai Evans will be offered a new deal will be deferred until he is fit to return to training, while Owen Cushion will be offered his first professional deal.
