Tenby beat Kilgetty on penalties in West Wales Cup

THE all-Pembrokeshire West Wales Cup tie between Kilgetty and Tenby was settled via penalties with Tenby coming out on top.

It looked as if the first half might finish goalless but four minutes from the break Billy Lawrence scored for Tenby to put the Division 2 side ahead.

Kilgetty looked for a way back into the game in the second half but it seemed Tenby would hold on for the win.

However, in the fourth minute of time added on, Richard Cope scored for the Division 1 side to level the game at 1-1.

That forced the game into extra time and it was Tenby who took the lead again thanks to Scott Ferney.

Kilgetty equalised again through Lloyd Hughes which meant a penalty shootout would be needed.

Tenby goalkeeper Dylan Noot saved Lloyd Hughes’ penalty with a superb stop to win the tie for his side.

George Taylor, Scott Ferney, Jerome Mansbridge, Daryl Mansbridge and Ricki Morgan all scored their penalties as Tenby sealed a 5-3 shootout win.

On Saturday, October 15, both sides return to league action with Kilgetty facing pennar Robins in Division 1 and Tenby visit Carew seconds in Division 2.
