Holyhead woman assaulted policeman in Bangor

WOMAN from Holyhead has been given a suspended sentence for attacking a police officer in Bangor.

Maureen O’Brien, 34, of William Street is accused of assaulting PC Scott Jones on the A4087 by hitting him with a blow to the head. She entered a guilty plea on September 17.

On October 3, at the Caernarfon Magistrates’ Court, O’Brien was sentenced to four weeks of jail, suspended for one year.

O’Brien allegedly exhibited “the intent to instill fear, including disease transmission.”

She must also complete three months of outpatient alcohol treatment and no more than fifteen days of rehabilitation activity.

The court has ordered her to pay £500 in monthly £24 installments beginning on November 28.
