Dyfed-Powys Police detective denies sexually assaulting woman

DYFED-POWYS Police Detective Constable Sam Garside, aged 30, has vehemently denied allegations of sexually assaulting a woman through penetration. The incident in question, reportedly occurring while he was off duty on 3rd December 2021, has stirred significant attention.

Having been suspended from his duties within the Ceredigion division of Dyfed-Powys Police since July 2023, Det Con Garside’s appearance in court marks a crucial juncture in the ongoing legal proceedings. The gravity of the accusation is underscored by the remarks of Senior Investigating Officer Huw Davies, who labelled it a “serious allegation.”

“In the face of such serious accusations, swift action was initiated upon receipt of the report,” reassured Davies, emphasising the urgency with which the matter was addressed. Now, the course of justice awaits its due process as the case is set for trial on 25th November at Swansea Crown Court.
