Three women arrested on suspicion of man’s murder

Three women are currently under arrest on suspicion of the murder of a 48-year-old man in Cardiff. The incident unfolded in the Heol-Y-Berllan and Heol Trelai locality of Caerau, with emergency services summoned just before 23:30 BST on Sunday evening.

Among the apprehended are a 28-year-old woman from Ely, a 43-year-old woman from Caerau, and another 43-year-old woman from Worcestershire. Currently, they are in police custody.

Authorities from South Wales Police have initiated an appeal for witnesses and have sealed off the affected area. The victim hailed from the Grangetown neighbourhood of the city, and his family has been notified. They are receiving support from specially trained officers.

Detective Superintendent Darren George, heading the Major Crime Team, stated, “A murder investigation has begun. Although arrests have been made, the investigation remains in its very early stages.” He further urged witnesses who were present in the Heol y Berllan and Heol Trelai area of Caerau between 23:00 and midnight on the night in question to step forward with any information, no matter how seemingly insignificant.

Furthermore, he noted, “There will also be an increased police presence in the area over the coming days as officers conduct their enquiries.”
