‘Dumping will not be tolerated’

Screen Shot 2016-02-25 at 09.21.17FAILURE to take his bins out on the right day cost a man £75, after council enforcement officers caught him dumping black bag waste at a recycling point.

When Carmarthenshire County Council environmental officers found the man dumping a black bag at the recycling banks in Laugharne, he said that he had missed his household bin collection.

Failure to pay the fixed penalty notice could lead to a court prosecution.

Executive Board Member for Environmental and Public Protection Cllr Jim Jones said: “These sites are important facilities for communities to recycle, but people are dumping all kinds of rubbish.

“This will not be tolerated and hopefully this will act as a warning that anyone caught will be fined.”
