Bug hotel: You could make a bug hotel this Father’s Day
Bug hotel: You could make a bug hotel this Father’s Day

WHY NOT treat your loved ones this father’s day with FREE entry for dad at WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre on Sunday (June 18) and enjoy the stunning surroundings overlooking the incredible Gower Peninsula.

This is a proper treat for dad and a great day out for the whole family. Enjoy special workshops where you can help dad (with expert one-to-one tuition) build a bug hotel to take home during our drop-in sessions from 11am – 12pm or 1pm – 4pm for just £5.

Other activities available throughout the day and included in the admission price include; a special mini session of bug hunting and pond dipping at 11am – 12pm, flamingo talk at 1pm, and a full hour of pond dipping at 2.30pm. You can also drop in to the craft corner in the afternoon to make your own souvenir to take home. And don’t forget to stop off at the NEW Kingfisher Kitchen with Gower views.

Kelly Lewis, Marketing Officer from WWT Llanelli, said: “Our father’s day offer can be enjoyed by all the family! With special do it yourself workshops where the family can work together to make their own bug hotel and lots of other exciting activities throughout the day you can get up-close-and-personal to some of nature’s most wonderful wildlife.

“And after all that, you can sit back and relax with a special treat in our bright and welcoming new Kingfisher Kitchen. We are looking forwarding to welcoming lots of families to make memories to remember in the amazing outdoors this Father’s day.”

The celebrity-designed Dusty Duck Trail can also be enjoyed at the centre (until June 25) with 14 giant, celebrity-designed Dusty Duck models to be found around the grounds!

WWT Llanelli Wetland is open daily from 9.30am – 5pm, 363 days of the year.
