Women’s networking group grows in popularity: Group founders Michelle and Becca hold a meeting every month

BUSINESSWOMEN gathered together for their monthly networking breakfast on Monday (May 9) at the Machynys Peninsula Golf Country Club and Spa.

The networking group, which launched last July, has seen a continued rise in popularity as more and more new members have joined the free group.

‘Woman in Networking Llanelli’ was set up in July 2015 after business women Michelle Beer of Ferry Cake Marketing and PR and Becca Rosenthal of Rivki Rose Training identified that there were no Llanelli networking group to support women in the workplace and in business.

Both women put aside time each month to promote the event and to organise a relevant speaker, as well as organising the meetings and the support.

Michelle said: “The host venue has been extremely supportive by providing a space and room for the meetings to take place each month.

“Once a quarter, we have an evening dinner meeting instead, to cater for the ladies who cannot make the mornings, due to childcare for example.

“Both Becca and I decided that it was to be a free event, so not to create any barriers to attendance and to encourage regular attendance to help build the supportive network and business relationships with each other.

“We even offer car sharing to the venue if required.”

Continuing to grow, the dynamic and supportive group incorporates ladies from Swansea and Carmarthenshire to inspire one another, share their experiences and knowledge, as well as to support and do business with each other.

On average, 18 ladies attend the group each month, but numbers vary between 10 and 26.
