Wales: Most loved up nation

Screen Shot 2016-02-01 at 11.54.53WALES is to celebrate two days of love in January and February with St Dwynwen’s Day and Valentines Day.

Wales is said to be the most romantic nation, annually celebrating love and companionship twice as much as the rest of the UK. The national day of love gets its name from the most beautiful daughter of a 5th Century tale, Dwynwen Brycheiniog, who became the Welsh patron saint of love.

Celebrating St. Dwynwen’s Day has been growing in popularity in recent years, with cards being exchanged and restaurants creating special menus for Welsh lovers, other businesses have also gotten involved to mark the occasion this year like chocolatier Lee Ann Smith of Printed Chocolates who has been making some bespoke creations with a very personal touch, all made possible by some remarkable technology.

Lee Ann said: “There is something very special about Wales having its own day to celebrate love. To recognise St. Dwynwen’s Day this year we have made some uniquely Welsh chocolate gifts with messages of love on them.”

She added: “We can print a high quality photo of your loved one and your own unique personal message of love straight on the chocolate bar, all in edible ink. If you have a ‘cariad’ in your life you can let them know how much you love them by giving them a Welsh chocolate unique to them. No one else is making chocolates like these. They really are ‘one of a kind’ gifts.”

Lee Ann explained that to make the creations she: “prints high resolution edible ink images directly on to chocolate.”
