Winter Wonderland at Selwyn Samuel Centre

AROUND 500 children attended a recent fun-filled fundraising event at the Selwyn Samuel Centre.

The aim of the event was to raise money for Ty Hafan and Anyone Waiting donated £1000, Joe’s Ice Cream donated £350, Bouncy Beans donated £50, Mike Clarke Printing donated £50, Morrisons Cakes donated £50, JW Entertainment donated £400 and The BEAN Network donated £500 to make sure everyone had a fantastic time.

There was a bouncy castle, meet and greet with Santa, Santa’s post-box, colouring competition, guess the sweets, and other entertainment. All the children were given a meal, and if that wasn’t enough, there were two donkeys in attendance – one of which showed a fondness for Joe’s Ice Cream!
A spokesperson for Anyone Waiting told The Herald that they were pleased to hold large-scale community events.

“We endeavour to meet the needs of our community here in Llanelli. The aim of the event was to reach out to families and make sure that they had a good time, in turn their contribution helped out all of the children in Ty Hafan,” they added.

“Our company, along with other companies that merged, ensured over £2,000 of goodies were given to transform the room into a ‘Winter Wonderland’, we feel that we achieved this and there were lots of smiles from everyone. We’ve recently raised a substantial amount for CYCA (Carmarthenshire Youth & Children’s Association, this event was specifically for Ty Hafan.

“Each event seems to get bigger and better and December doesn’t slow things down.”
