Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service launch Wholetime Firefighter recruitment drive

MID AND WEST WALES FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE is seeking applicants for Wholetime Firefighters, with a recruitment process launching at 9am on Thursday, September 9.

Chief Fire Officer Chris Davies said: “This is an exciting opportunity for people to join a modern-day Fire and Rescue Service which is diverse and inclusive.

“The role of a Firefighter is extremely varied.  Firefighters not only train to respond to a diverse range of incidents including fires, road traffic collisions, water rescues and much more, they also spend a growing amount of time engaging with and educating our communities, to help prevent emergency incidents from happening in the first place.

“Our job is to make our communities safer, and we need people from all walks of life who can adapt to any given situation. One moment they might be rescuing someone from a road traffic collision or a burning house, later they might be supporting a vulnerable person in their home or speaking to hundreds of school children about fire prevention”

He continued; “The Fire and Rescue Service is an incredibly rewarding career. One that offers continuous development along with an exciting working environment, where no day is ever the same!

I would encourage everyone to visit our website to learn more about the role.”

The recruitment window will be open on Thursday, September 9 at 9am and will remain open until 23.59pm on Sunday, September 12.
