92-year-old cyclist dies following a collision with a car near Pontypridd

A 92-year-old cyclist, who was involved in a collision with a car last month, has passed away.

South Wales Police reported that the incident occurred at approximately 10:20 BST on Thursday, September 21, along Pen-Y-Wal Road, near Graigwen, Pontypridd.

The cyclist, riding a black and turquoise Trek bicycle, was involved in a collision with a black Ford Ranger towing a trailer. Both vehicles were traveling in the same direction from Llanwonno towards Pontypridd at the time.

Following the incident, the cyclist was transported to the hospital, and his family is receiving support from specially trained officers. Authorities are requesting information from any witnesses to the collision or anyone with potential CCTV footage of the incident or its lead-up.
