Indian Ocean rowing challenge for Dirty Vegan

Dirty Vegan Matt Pritchard, the unconventional TV chef, is embarking on a new and daring nautical challenge.

After successfully rowing across the Atlantic in 2021, covering a staggering 3,000 miles (4,828km) with a crew of three, this former professional skateboarder from Cardiff is now setting his sights on the vast expanse of the Indian Ocean.

Alongside his companions, Billy Taylor and John Haskell, Pritchard is determined to row a staggering 5,000 miles (8,047km) between Australia and Africa. Their goal is to accomplish this remarkable journey in a span of just 100 days next year.

“It’s a big challenge but I find it’s really good for my mental health,” said Pritchard.

“Being out at sea, away from your phone, emails and social media is very peaceful and calming for the mind.”

Notably, Pritchard also gained fame as a member of the group “Dirty Sanchez,” where they partook in a variety of often excruciating and unpleasant stunts on television.

“I feel pain just like everybody else, but I guess I get a little kick out of it.

“With Dirty Sanchez you knew what was coming and it was quite intense pain.

“Rowing an ocean is more of a mental challenge.”
