Whitland Suckler sale going from strength to strength

THE SECOND mid-month sale of Suckler Cows at Whitland continued in the same vein from the first sale with a good entry forward and a strong ringside of bidders.

With an entry consisting of slightly more aged cows, the overall average came in at £1250, but the younger cows and heifers sold well as always, getting to a high of £1720 for a 3-year-old Pedigree Limousin heifer with a heifer calf at foot.

She was Wellhouse Jasmine and went to Phillips Farms Ltd, Windsor Farm.

Fast on her heels was a Limousin X heifer with a month old bull calf from Dylan Thomas, Tynewydd, at £1700 that went to RD & MA Shackleton, Mathry.

Two breeding bulls were entered – a very smart looking six year old Charolais cross, black in colour, from A D Chaplin, Nantygroes, which sold at £1750 and also went to RD & MA Shackleton.
