Carew beat Tish by 8 wickets in Alec Colley quarter final

CAREW went through to the semi-finals of the Alec Colley Cup on Wednesday night (Jul 6) as they beat St Ishmaels by eight wickets.

Carew won toss and elected to field and they restricted Tish to 138 for 8 from their 20 overs.

Phil Llewellyn and Steve Williams both made scores of 41 while Josh Beer added 19.

Kerry Waters took 1-42 for Carew and Barry Evans claimed 2-33. Mark White was the pick of the bowlers with 3-31 and Max Brindley finished with 2-31.

In reply, Scott Richards was run out for a duck in the first over by Stuart Carpenter.

Gareth Lewis made 53 before falling as Tish’s Lenny Rees finished with 1-33.

Nick Scourfield finished unbeaten on 55 though to see Carew to victory in the 18th over.

The win for Carew means they will play Whitland in the semi-final, with that game scheduled for Thursday, July 21.

There is one other Alec Colley quarter final game taking place tonight (Jul 7) as Haverfordwest host Pembroke. The winner of that game will face Pembroke Dock in the other semi final
