Division 5 Cup: Prendergast Villa to face Tenby seconds in final

PRENDERGAST Villa will play Tenby seconds in the final of the Division 5 Cup after they won their semi-finals this week.

Prendergast played their game on Tuesday and came out with a 4-3 shootout win over Angle.

The game had finished 1-1 after extra time following first half goals from Jamie Hunt for Angle and Joe John for the Villa.

In the second half Dan Williams crossed from the left for Joe John who put the ball in the net but the goal was ruled out as Williams had recieved the ball in an offside position according to the official.

Villa also thought they should have had a penalty late on but nothing was given.

Neither side could find a winner in extra time and the game went to penalties.

Angle did go 3-1 up in the shootout but penalties from John, Gareth Bicknell and Ryan Clark put them ahead and keeper Andrew Thomas missed for Angle, giving Villa a 4-3 shootout win.

Tenby seconds beat Kilgetty seconds in extra time

The other semi-final was played on Monday and it saw Tenby seconds earn a 3-1 win over Kilgetty seconds after extra time.

The game was 0-0 at half time but it wasn’t without drama as Tenby missed a penalty and also saw a shot cleared off the line.

Kurt Sarrionandia put Tenby ahead after 72 minutes but just a minute later Andrew Evans equalised for Kilgetty.

In extra time, Boris Suffolk-Hickman and Matthew Webb scored to send Tenby through to the final.

The final will be played on Thursday, April 28, at Monkton Swifts, kick off at 6:15pm.
