Haworth’s hat trick helps Wizards to victory

A SECOND half hat trick by Will Haworth earned the points for Merlins Bridge at the Racecourse against Fishguard last Saturday (Apr 2).

Merlins Bridge took the lead on the half hour mark through Ben Davies, however, Jordan Raymond levelled matters for Fishguard.

The Wizards took the lead in the second half when Will Haworth fired in to the bottom corner and minutes later, the same player raced through to make it 3-1.

With time running out, Bridge were awarded a penalty when Matthew D’Ivry was brought down inside the penalty area.

Will Haworth scored from the spot to complete his hat-trick and bag his 20th goal of the season.

The win for the Bridge is their second in a row and it moves them three points behind fourth placed Clarbeston Road.

On Tuesday, April 5, Merlins Bridge travel to St Ishmaels while on Saturday, April 9, they host Neyland with kick off at 1:45pm.

Fishguard’s next game is scheduled for April 14 when they travel to Carew.
