Hook through to Alec Colley second round

HOOK booked their place in the second round of the Alec Colley Cup with a win over Llanrhian on Tuesday night (May 31).

Hook batted first and scored 165-5 in their 20 overs. They did lose Liam Miller early on when he was bowled by Karl Davies but George James and Jake Wicks shared 50 runs for the second wicket.

James departed for a score of 20 and Jamie Phelps only added 10 before he was also sent back to the pavilion.

Craig Nutty was then run out as Hook were reduced to 90-4.

Wicks and Oscar Willington added 33 runs for the fifth wicket before Willington fell on a score of 7.

Wicks and Jack Phillips saw the remaining overs out, Phillips finishing unbeaten on 19 while Wicks was the star as he finished unbeaten on 89.

Llanrhian were unable to get going in their reply as they lost two early wickets, including Karl Davies for a duck.

Ben Jones was trapped leg before by Rhys Phelps while Fraser Watson was bowled by Liam Miller.

Rob John scored 22 for the visitors but it wasn’t enough as Llanrhian finished short on 96-7.
