Late penalty seals win for St Clears

ST CLEARS started the League 3 West A season with a win after a late penalty saw them beat Haverfordwest 12-15.

The Saints took the lead with tries from Dafydd Evans and Dafydd Waters, one of which was converted by Dan Griffiths.

The Blues then responded with tries of their own, one of which was converted.

That brougth the scores level but Griffiths stepped up to land the late conversion to seal the win for the Saints.

The Blues picked up a losing bonus point and they will look for a better result away to Laugharne next Saturday, September 10.

The Saints will look to build on their opening day win when they host Lampeter Town.
