MONKTON SWIFTS won an entertaining battle with Tenby on Saturday (Jan 21), by eight goals to six.

Sam Christopher scored five for Tenby but it wasn’t enough to give them victory.

There was a frantic start to the match as there were three goals in the first 20 minutes with the Swifts leading 2-1.

James Russell scored twice for the Swifts to help his side to their fifth win of the season.

Ryan Griffiths, Tom Baldry, Martyn Carroll, Tom Powell, Matthew Davies and Alan Jones scored the other goals for the home side.

Tenby never gave up thanks to Sam’s five goals and brother Jack scored the other for the Seasiders.

Defeat for Tenby leaves them sixth in the table, while Monkton’s win sees them move up to 10th in the table.

On Saturday (Jan 28), Monkton are at home to Goodwick and Tenby are away to Neyland.
