12 months in prison for double burglaries

A few weeks ago we told you about a man being charged with two burglaries after targeting independent businesses in Carmarthen.

This week he was sentenced to 12 months in prison for the offences.

Arrest enquiries led officers to find a bag belonging to Clee, which contained items taken from a car.

It was also discovered that Clee was driving a Ford KA, which targeting team officers spotted in Station Road, Llanelli, yesterday (March 17).

The suspect was seen getting out of the car, and was arrested. On being searched by officers, he produced amphetamine – a class B drug.

He was charged with six offences – two counts of burglary, handling stolen goods, two driving offences, and possession of a class B drug – and remanded to appear at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court.

He admitted all six offences, and was sentenced to 12 months in prison when he appeared at Swansea Crown Court.

Detective Sergeant Owen Lock said: “This is an excellent example of numerous departments and teams working together to secure charges against a prolific offender.

“We hope this investigation goes to show our determination to pursue offenders who come into our force area to commit offences.”
