17-year-old admits axe and samurai sword murder

A 17-YEAR-OLD boy has today (Jul 2) admitted murdering Fiona Scourfield at her home near Laugharne.

He appeared today at Swansea Crown Court before Judge Keith Thomas for what was listed as an “update” hearing prior to trial.

But he immediately entered a plea of guilty to murdering Ms Scourfield, aged 54, on March 6, with an axe and a samurai sword.

He will be sentenced early next month after two psychiatrists have prepared reports on him.

He was remanded in custody meanwhile.

The boy cannot be named at this stage because of a court order.
