Haverfordwest: Police smash car window to save dog from heat

POLICE OFFICERS had to smash the window of a parked car yesterday afternoon (Jun 30) to help save a dog who was locked inside.

With temperatures in Pembrokeshire hitting a high of 27°c, worried shoppers at Tesco in Haverfordwest saw the dog in a car and called the emergency services as they were concerned about its welfare.

Once on the scene, police officers deemed it necessary to smash the window of the vehicle to help get the dog out of the heat.

A crowd had gathered in the car park to watch the rescue.

It is not yet known if the animal required any further attention due to its time in the heat.

The Herald has contacted Dyfed-Powys Police for more information.
