A prize catch for Cameron’s Fund

THE FIRST Sewin of the season in the UK has been caught on the Towy and is up for auction to raise funds for the Cameron Comey Fund.

Carmarthen Coracle Association are donating the Sewin, which was caught by fisherman Andrew Davies and his fishing partner Matthew Dagnall on Monday night.

Towy Fishmonger, located alongside the Clock Tower at Carmarthen market, will display the 14lb Sewin until midday Thursday, when the auction closes.

During this time people can come in to the shop or phone to bid and any donations and all the money raised from the auction will go directly to the Cameron Comey Fund.

Clare Treharne, owner of Towy Fishmonger, said: “If people give us their name, telephone number and the amount they’d like to bid we will contact the highest bidder at the end of business on Thursday.

“We hope to raise a significant amount of awareness and money for the fund.”
